Sometimes I’m confounded by these decisions. Possible Spoilers.

So, when Celaena and Sam leave Arrobyn, which should’ve been done right away by the way instead of doing that final Donegal job(and why are you even trusting Arrobyn at this point, he’s betrayed you many times now, he literally lied about the Skull’s Bay job!), they’re trying to figure out where to go and how to make a living, and decide to leave the guild. And Sam decided bare knuckle boxing is the way to go like he’s the Pikey from Snatch. And she’s thinking of maybe setting up a assassin biz somewhere on the continent, but needs to do another job first to have money in case they struggle, and yada yada.
But the whole time, I’m thinking why the fuck don’t they go to the red dessert and train with the silent assassins? The master loves Celaena, and Sam could benefit from the training, and I’m sure the Master could use the addition to his fortress after that last attack and betrayal by Ansel. Speaking of Ansel, they could join up with her and take back Briarcliff, Ansel owes her anyway. Or how about going to the southern continent and checking in on her Yrene healer friend at the Torre Cesme, which is something she dreamed of living at when she was a kid. No one is making her be an assassin anymore. Also, she could be a mercenary or join any army. Or head back to Rolfe and become a pirate queen. Like, there are allllllll these options that no one ever thinks about.
But also I have thoughts on Arrobyn, like why the fuck are you antagonizing your top two henchmen? Why lie about the slave deal with Rolfe, was it a test of loyalty/obedience? And if so, why risk all the money you’d make from the slave deal if they fail the test? And then this genius thinks sending her to the silent assassins is a good idea as punishment, but all it does is make her a better assassin and now she’s got a ton of money to buy her freedom and another master that won’t treat her like shit. And then that wasn’t even enough, so he’s gotta lie her into another job and piss her off enough so that she leaves even sooner. All he did was lose his top assassins, just so he can be smug, he fucked himself. What was the point of having a protege raised from age 9, which he never sexually assaulted by the way, so it’s not like there was an ulterior motive to keeping this girl and paying for her training. Yea I get that he was mesmerized into finding her after she fled from the attack on Terrasen, but was that a permanent mez? Why keep her around if you’re just going to piss her off so much she leaves? And you lose that income she brought in. And you no longer have the “Otterland Assassin” fame to brag about. So weird. But furthermore….
So Arrobyn is King of the Assassins, and people know who he is and that he’s this murder king, and yet no one thought to have him be the Kings Champion Assassin? Him and the king of otterland have made deals before, so it’s not like they don’t know each other. Maybe the king did ask and Arrobyn turned him down, that’s possible I guess.
